Soaring the heights
….and a smooth landing….
I am one step closer to fulfilling one item on my bucket list – SKYDIVING. And I hope to do this by the time I turn 50 this year. I don’t want to just come to a milestone in my life, I want to celebrate it from the TOP!!
On Memorial Day weekend, the kids and I headed down to Eloy, Arizona to check out SkyDive Arizona which I’ve been checking out on-line all week long. I know I want to do it even though I have not actually seen one. I felt a mix of excitement, curiosity and fear. To see for myself and watch the excitement from the ground would ease my apprehension. And it did!
This place is about 40 miles from where we live. It’s tucked away from the main highway and as we approached the drop zone they were EVERYWHERE. My little heart was pounding with excitement! I couldn’t park the car fast enough to have a closer look.
Camera, must have the camera….got it!
Skydivers were soaring high, some approaching for landing and those who have landed, quickly scooped their parachutes with the biggest smile on their face. The sky was so clear and so blue that day, the grassy drop zone in the middle of this Arizona desert was just the perfect place to be. Just watching was very exciting but the next time I come to this place, I will be jumping off the plane. Not only am I excited but now my son and daughter shared my excitement for this thrilling experience.
The landing was my biggest concern and all the ones we saw landed beautifully and seemed effortless. Most of them were experienced skydivers but even the tandem skydivers looked like they had the best time of their life.
This made it official. I blogged about it so I have to make it happen, right?! I will be jumping from 13,000 feet and fly like a bird.
SKYDIVING….I can already feel the wind against my face…..
My son had a blast doing the indoor skydiving.
Here he is after…….reflecting……planning on the REAL jump!
My daughter just came along to support her crazy mother….but by the time we left….she decided she’s JUMPING too!
Back on the desert ground but not for long…
….this woman is ready to JUMP and experience the thrill!
SKYDIVING is officially on the family bucket list!
Most of the time you only hear of personal bucket lists. I think it is fantastic that you are getting the whole family involved!
Skydiving was on my bucket list and it was truly a sensational feeling! There is no other feeling like it in the world!
Can’t wait to read your story once you do make the jump!! Enjoy every second of it because it goes by so fast!!!
Thank you so much, Amy!
I’m really looking forward to this family jump. I’m sure it’s an out of this world thrilling experience….stay tuned for the after jump report.
