Some of the most special moments I’ve had have occurred watching my baby girl learn and come to understand the simplest of things. Watching her as she has complete focus and awe as something new dawns on her allows me to relive the wonders of our world on a daily basis. Seeing her as she realizes what her eyes are recording isn’t just 2D but in fact 3D. Her realizing that those sounds she hears are actually coming from her. Her realizing that thing waving randomly in front of her is actually a) her own hand and b) is something she can control. The countless associations she makes between previously random events or objects which now have come together and equate to something more fluid. I could go on and on.
During our stay at the beautiful Island Vista Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, Athena and I had many beautiful moments just like these. Follow along as I go through just some of them.
This is a beautiful post that your daughter will cherish when she’s older. Congrats, Dad! You’re doing a great job!

I’ve got the same great memories of my son when he was about 16 months old. Now that he’s 5, maybe it’s time I bring him to Myrtle Beach. This resort sounds like a great family spot; I’ll be sure to check it out!
This was so sweet. So happy to hear you all had a great time at this resort. It looks beautiful! We’re hoping to do the same this summer in Myrtle Beach – I’m going to look into this place more to see!!
Good post, keep up the good work… Darren, What motivated you to call this blog “Top 10 Father / Daughter Moments at Island Vista Resort”, not that the title does not go with the content, I am just wondering. Great job Darren.
