7000 Acres = 10.9375 Square Miles
That’s the size of the hotel property that I’m visiting in the Dominican Republic. Case de Campo is more like a city than a resort. The driver said, “You have arrived at Case de Campo and it was a good 6 minutes later when we reached the lobby. You know that scene in Jurassic Park where the gates open to the park and all of the mouths are agape? That was my expression when I entered the gated paradise of Casa de Campo.
I’m in for an amazing few days at this sports mecca with a line-up of skeet shooting, horseback riding, golf, catamaran sailing, snorkeling, and water sports. Stay tuned; this is definitely a unique bucket list experience.
These are my free-time choices at Case de Campo. Which one would you choose if you could only pick one?
• Golf lesson or tee time on Pete Dye’s courses
• Cooking lesson with Le Cirque chef
• Water sports at Minitas Beach (snorkeling, paddle-boarding)
• Cigar Factory Tour
Tomorrow at 8:50 am I will embark on a “Shooting Safari” where I will escape into the Dominican jungle for a skeet/trap shooting adventure at the professional 245-acre Shooting Club. Have you tried skeet shooting before? I don’t know what I’m getting myself into, but I’m up for anything and enthusiastic to try something new.
Love your spirit.
Cheers.
