Road trip here I come!

Five Days, 2,500 Miles, Eight States

Posted on September 25, 2013 by Steven Moore | 3 Comments

The open road, an endless playlist, salty snacks and a few friends–what more do you need for a road trip across America? With my V.W. packed and ready to go, George (aka Dad), Tallie (the terrier) and I hopped in the car in Santa Cruz, California. Our itinerary? Cross the southwestern United States in five days, and end in…

Hot Air Balloon Riding with 2Fly Us

Posted on May 22, 2013 by imagesbytdashfield | 4 Comments

Before our trip to Arizona, I did the usual thing that many travelers do – research where to stay, eat and what there was to see and do.  Of all the activities listed, the one that stood out for me was hot air balloon rides.  I just had to do it!  After several calls, I decided to go with this…

Reaching the Top of My Bucket List

Posted on January 21, 2013 by Sas Ryan | 0 Comments

Featured writer: Sas Ryan When I was a child, my bucket list was very short. It only had two items on it. To visit the Grand Canyon and to visit Giants Causeway. In that order. Don’t ask me why, but they were the two places on the planet that captured my imagination. My bucket list grew when I reached adulthood, and…

Reflecting on Whitewater Rafting the Grand Canyon

Posted on November 12, 2012 by The Grumpy Hiker | 2 Comments

Featured writer: The Grumpy Hiker I’m sitting in a house in Cleveland, OH trying to write a blog post that better summarizes my experience in the Grand Canyon. It’s 45 degrees, clouds, raining and, for someone who has spent the last two years in Arizona; absolutely miserable. Spending 21 days rafting the Colorado River feels like a dream, and telling…

I’ve spent four days in New York and aside from incredible photos I took along the way, I visited memorable places: Time Square, Broadway, Central Park, Ellis Island, Battery Park, 9/11 Memorial, China Town, Little Italy, and the Empire State…

Adventure in the Sierra Ancha

Posted on May 18, 2012 by elizabethjulia | 1 Comments

Featured Writer:  Elizabeth Wescott It was a motley crew that set out from our house early Saturday morning.  I had proposed this little expedition after reading an amazing article about the Sierra Ancha in a popular magazine a few months ago, and was really jazzed when a few people actually seemed serious about accompanying us. Aside from my husband Dan…

Sedona Series Part 3: From Inside a Vortex

Posted on March 16, 2012 by mountainmissy | 1 Comments

Featured writer: Melissa Alright guys, here is another part in the series entitled SEDONA, AZ. Pretty creative, huh? Sedona is a wonderful place to visit and spend some time. It’s about 3500 ft in elevation so it’s still pretty warm in the winter, which was when we went. There are some gorgeous red rock views. I found the architecture so amazing. Houses built…

We Flew with the Other Eagles, Over the Grand Canyon, with Papillion Helicopter Tours

Posted on February 26, 2012 by Lesley | 0 Comments

We flew with the other eagles and the clouds, over the Grand Canyon, to discover a barren rock landscape, dotted with green along the valley floors, and dusty sage on the plateaus. Enormous rock pillars rose to meet the sky as we hovered over the six-million-year-old landmark.  But the best feature of our experience was the incredible vantage points offered by the Papillion helicopter ride….
