Open any camping, hiking, or trekking magazine and you’ll find the Jetboil. What makes the Jetboil system so appealing? the answer is simple: convenience plus efficiency. The Jetboil Sol Ti Premium Cooking System is a self-contained cooking system made with the solo hiker in mind. The Jetboil Sol shaved ounces off the weight by including a small, thin, light cup made of titanium, as well as trimming down the plastic housing that surrounds the burner head. Jetboil also incorporated their new Thermo-Regulate Technology into the new Sol cook system. With a heat exchanger built right into the pot, the stove delivers astonishing fuel efficiency and ultra-short boil times. The Jetboil Sol Ti Premium Cooking System is Jetboil’s lightest and most technically advanced integrated canister fuel cooking system.
The Jetboil Sol Ti comes complete with the following:
0.7 oz (19 g) ~ Drink-through lid, with pour spout and strainer
3.8 oz (107 g) ~ 0.8L (27 fl oz) Flux Ring Titanium Cup
0.6 oz (17 g) ~ Neoprene Insulating Cozy with handle
1.2 oz (33 g) ~ Bottom cover which doubles as a bowl and a measuring cup
3.5 oz (98 g) ~ Stove/Flame Burner Housing with a piezoelectric igniter
1.3 oz (36 g) ~ Pot Support
1 oz (28 g) ~ Fuel (Canister) Stabilizer
The Jetboil is based off of canister fuel. The burner and the Jetboil specific cooking unit interlock, which allows for amazing heat absorption and quick cooking times. Since each piece is made to work with one another, there is no need to ever be concerned about compatibility.
The “Ti” stands for titanium, which is how they cut down on weight. Jetboil lighten nearly every component of the Sol Ti system: the cook pot is Titanium, the top lid is a bit lighter, it has a thin neoprene cozy without a heat indicator, the burner unit is lightened up, the cook pot is smaller, and the heat exchanger fins on the bottom are thinner. It fits in even the smallest backpack.
Jetboil’s new Thermo-Regulate™ Technology is a pressure regulator incorporated into the burner that maintains a more constant gas pressure so burner output is more uniform as the fuel in the canister diminishes. It also significantly improves stove performance in colder temperatures.
The easy to use integrated system makes cooking and cleanup a breeze. The push button igniter is excellent quality and the speed at which the system cooks is phenomenal. The cooking time for 16 ounces of water (.5 Liter) averages out to only 2 minutes 15 seconds, and with the Sol’s burner design it is capable of maintaining even heat down to 20˚ F (-6˚ C).
The Jetboil Sol Ti Premium Cooking System’s ultra-lightweight titanium, Thermo-Regulate Technology, and water boiling efficiency make the Jetboil stand out among other hiking and camping products. No wonder it’s featured in every camping magazine on the market.
I have used the Jetboil for several years now and it is a really great system. I have the original one, but looks like I may have to upgrade in the near future.
Off to the campsite this weekend. I’m going to order this now.
