We love our neighbors! It’s a cute, portable ping-pong table that doubles as a serving table. Light-weight, easy to set-up, and family friendly, we celebrated Labor Day weekend with some outdoor master-pong fun.

We are all new to the community and relationships are quickly cementing our roots. With new families, growing children, and expecting mothers, we’re all in different stages of parenthood, but it is such a beautiful experience to watch our children interact with each other.

I suggested that we play master-pong on the porch while the burgers were cooking and all of the kids jumped at the opportunity to play. The table was upstairs in the loft but I quickly ran up and grabbed it since it is so light-weight. With handles on the top and a folding storage position, it’s like carrying a suitcase. 22 pounds is a breeze when you carry a baby around all day. I have what I call “Mommy muscles.”

It took less than one minute to open it up, get out the paddles and ball, and start a game. Darren and Kaylee played first. At 6 years old, she packs a mean serve. She managed to give Darren a run for his money and kept a rally going for a few minutes. It always brings a smile to my face watching him interact with children. The way to my heart is not food; it’s kindness to kids.

When the food was ready, we put away the paddles and used the table as a place to serve burgers rather than ping-pong balls. We bought an outdoor table this weekend with the intent of using it for the party but we returned it today. We no longer have a use for it; the master-pong table takes its place.

We will continue to grow as a family and in the ways we interact, but outdoors games will remain a staple in our relationships. Teaching sportsmanship is a lifelong lesson.
